Director Biography

Kiumars Pourahmad was born in 1939 in Najaf Abad, Isfahan. He graduated in electrical engineering from Isfahan Industrial College. He began his professional career as an actor and assistant director on the T.V. series Fire Without Smoke and then Joined the Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults. Pourahmad is also active as a film critic, screenwriter and editor. He has made the short and medium length films The Target (1976), First Hour, Second Hour (1977), One Never Dies When There Is Love in The Heart (1977), The Singer (1978), Rain (1983), Warp and Woof (1985), The Spectacles (1987). His feature films include Tatoureh (1984), Bibi Chelcheleh (1986), The Shame (1992), Morning of the Next Day (1993), For The Sake of Haniye (1994), Estranged Sister (1995), The Night of Yalda (2001). He also directed the T.V. series Majid's Adventures and the Clue.
